An interesting thing that I discovered is that you can insert midi data and meta events in your automation stream! In another post I talked about the Drummer feature in Logic. Select one and go! You can click that and expand the multi-channel folder that allows you to access each element of the drum kit. You can assign any controls to one of the 8 available knobs.

Please try again later. Verified Purchase. The main reason that I ordered “Logic Pro X for dummies” was to have explanations for what I was trying to work with on the screen. This book is quite large pages. The text is printed a bit light and the paper quality is “newspaper grade”. That means thin. All this would be fine except the Figures are unreadable. The background is very dark and the information is displayed only a little bit lighter.

In order to see these at all I must use a magnifier. This book will be most valuable as a paper weight and that’s too bad because Logic Pro X is a very versatile program. I can’t get my photo to transfer in to this commentary, but look in the book and you will know exactly what I mean. I was gonna give it a 3 garage band book is a5star book this one not as helpful.

A great source for continued learning of Logic capabilities. One person found this helpful. Chock full of great info and cool shortcuts and tricks. User friendly. First, let me say this book is not aligned with the “For Dummies” category – it is a reference book for Logic Pro X.

Many critical reviews complain there is no “easy start example”, and that is true which could easily be remedied in a 3rd edition. However, as an “intermediate” amateur this book is excellent as a reference tool for a very capable and complex software package. You can watch hours and hours of online videos, but having this on the desk is a no-brainer IMHO. Anyone research what Pro Tools costs all in to become proficient?

This book, as others has mentioned, has pretty inferior graphics. Hard to read. Additionally, the book didn’t really suit my needs. I am mainly looking for editing assistance with pre-recorded tracks in my case, choirs and instrumental stuff.

The book is almost entirely about recording directly into LogicPro X and using various loops and digital sounds as opposed to help regarding what I needed.
